Activity 9.3.2 – Reading and Vocabulary

Now, Ray and Deborah have gone to see the house Frank wants them to buy. Ray tells his father he needs to talk to Deborah, so Frank goes upstairs to turn off the lights. He tells them he has brought coffee and donuts, and they can help themselves to them.

Deborah is very excited about the house, but Ray tries to explain to her that she hasn’t known his parents as long as he has, and it’s really not a good idea to move so close to them.

After they have argued for a few minutes, Deborah finally convinces Ray that with three children, she will need all the help she can get, and that having his parents across the street is the best thing about the house.
